Detecting Emotion from the Voice

Allocations have been made for the 3rd year computing project.  I'm excited to say I've been allocated my first choice: Detecting Emotion from the Voice supervised by Dr Barry-John Theobald.

The idea is a very interesting one.  We are already able to automatically animate a character from speech, however what this project aims to do, is to detect what emotion the voice artist is trying to portray: happy, sad, angry, worried and so on.

With this information, the behavior and expression of the character could also to automatically animated, to reflect this emotion.
